American Diabetes Association Names Gamma Phi Omega Top Team For Fourth Year In A Row

Sorority contributes to its national philanthropy and surpasses its fundraising goal 


Chicago, Ill.—Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Incorporated was named the top fundraising team at the American Diabetes Association’s Indianapolis Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk. The Sorority was able to earn this honor from the combined efforts of its members, the Running Swans that participated in the 2013 Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon, friends and family.

Gamma Phi Omega raised a record amount, more than $15,600, to help find a cure for diabetes in 2013. The sorority has worked together to raise more than $34,000 in the last three years at the Indianapolis Walk. The ladies tirelessly raise money for family and friends affected by diabetes. Experts approximate 366 million worldwide currently have diabetes, 25.8 million in the United States.
